Take advantage of all the learning opportunities available to you on YouTube. I’m not one to encourage laziness (okay, maybe I am), but YouTube is a lot more than just cute cat videos. When you can just have fun without the pressure of ‘adding up’, you’ll find you open up more creatively and learn in a way that works best for you. Instead, roll with the Beatles and Let it Be. It’s far to easy to get caught in the comparison game when it comes to art. Joining a doodle challenge is a great way to get started. Just try to remember to doodle a little every day. I hate ever referring to it as practice as if you’re gearing up for some big tournament. I know some people might argue against this, but as long as you are not taking the work and claiming it as your own idea and you give credit, in my opinion, copying can be extremely beneficial.
